| INTRODUCING MES-PLATES, FROM EZ Tag INC. |
| The Video Breakthrough in Surveillance and Enforcement |
| Every vehicle on the street has a License Plate. A very small subset of these plates are on Hot Lists ofvehicles that are finterest to law enforcement. From unpaid parking tickets, expired vehicle registrations, stolen vehicles, amber alerts and in more serious cases to help locate the owners/ operators of the vehicles who are wanted on outstanding warrants. There have always been good reasons for police to locate vehicles that are often like needles in a haystack.
These targeted License Plates are right there on display. But sorting them out of the crowd has always meant spending lots of time and lots of dedicated manpower. Up until now, that is. |
| Technology Takes Over the Task |
EZ Tag is a leading technology company specifically addressing the needs of Law Enforcement today. In partnership with Elsag North America, Company engineers have married video inputs with Image Analysis software that identifies targeted plates using an onboard hot list, and returns an alarm back to the operator in milliseconds. Using a vehicle mounted video camera, a moving patrol car can check between 5000 and 8000 plates per eight hour shift at speeds in excess of 75MPH (120KM/h), while the officer is attending to other routine duties.
The split second response of the MES-Plates system is its most important asset. When the patrol officer receives an audible alarm, the laptop screen will display a digital picture of the Plate and the Vehicle as well as information as to the reason the plate is Hot Listed, all the while still abreast of the vehicle. |
| The Real Winner is Public Safety |
| Jurisdictions using the MES-Plates System experience dramatic increases in the recovery ofstolen vehicles, recovery of unpaid parking fines, the control of residential parking permit abuses, or the enforcement of expired registrations or suspended driver's permits. And those are just a few of the areas where gains can be made. All these public benefits come with no additional expenditure of public funds for overtime or for Officers dedicated to personally locating these vehicles. |
