| MES-Timing Lets Patrol Cars do Double Duty |
EZ TAG is the leading technology company specifically addressing the needs of Law Enforcement today. Company engineers have married video inputs with Image Analysis software to identify and record vehicle registration plate numbers, storing them along with their location and a time stamp for review on subsequent passes. Using a vehicle mounted video camera a moving patrol car can record thousands of plates per eight hour shift while the officer at the wheel is attending to other routine duties.
Whenever MES Timing identifies a plate that has been in the same location longer than should be permitted by parking regulations a warning is flashed to the screen of the cruiser's Mobile Data Terminal (MDT). The message comes up as the patrol car is approaching the offending vehicle. That gives the officer on patrol the choice of issuing a citation on the spot or reporting the infraction to Parking Enforcement. |
